Meet Joshua Burgin
If you're wondering who I am and what makes me qualified to provide you with valuable content, allow me to introduce myself. I began my career one of Amazon's first 100 employees, working as a software engineer when the company's sole focus was selling books online.
I'm passionate about hiring and growing diverse, mission-driven technology organizations that collaborate to deliver outstanding products with direct business impact.
I’m currently the Chief Product Officer at Upwind Security, focused on simplifying cloud-native security for customers who use our Cloud Security Platform. Before joining Upwind, I served as the VP of Product & Strategy for VMware’s multi-billion-dollar Product & Cloud Services business and spent nearly a decade at Amazon Web Services (AWS) as a General Manager in EC2.
Beyond my primary role as an executive in the tech industry, I serve as an Advisory Board Member for several early-stage startups. Additionally, I hold positions on the Boards of non-profit organizations, including Seattle’s Jewish Day School, URJ Camp Kalsman and the Anti-Defamation League (ADL). My role on the National Commission of the ADL has empowered me to actively combat hate and extremism, both in digital spaces and the physical world.
Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling the world, and documenting the sites, food & people I meet on my Instagram.
